Frozen and Forgotten

My name's Rob, and I worked with Independent Age to place an ice sculpture of myself outside the Tate Modern. I did this because I feel I've been left in the cold. I hope you'll agree this isn't right. I need you to stand with older people like me so the UK Government does more to tackle financial hardship in later life.

I missed out on the Winter Fuel Payment by just £2.80 a week, and that extra money would have made a huge difference. I don't use my heating, and I'm not alone either. 85% of older people have said they can't afford their essential costs on the new full State Pension - just £221 a week. Even if I had got my Winter Fuel Payment, things would still be really hard.

For the almost two million older people in poverty, and millions more facing financial hardship, we need the Government to act. No one should be left in the cold.
