Ask your MP to support older people on low incomes!

Too many older people are missing out on vital support. New estimates from the UK Government of how many eligible pensioners are not claiming Pension Credit is up to 910,000 households.This shows an increase on the previous year’s figure of up to 760,000 households leaving around 1.2 million older people without the support they deserve, including £4,000 a year and access to essentials like free NHS dental care, Housing Benefit, and the Warm Home Discount.

The system is too complex with some facing up to 450 questions and hours of paperwork just to apply. This must change.

We’re calling on the UK Government to ensure every older person receives the financial support they’re entitled to, simplify the Pension Credit application process, and expand the Pensions Commission to review whether the State Pension is adequate now, not just in the future.
