Ask your MP to lobby UK Chancellor, Rachel Reeves, for action on Local Housing Allowance

At Independent Age, we hear all the time how older renters are having to cut back on essentials to make ends meet because of shortfalls in their Housing Benefit. That is why we are calling on the Government to uprate Local Housing Allowance (which determines Housing Benefit) to cover the lowest 30% of rented properties and commit to uprating it for the long term.

48% of older renters who receive Housing Benefit feel worried about being able to pay their rent and we think this needs addressing urgently.
